Install eSIM on iPhone 15 / 15 Plus / 15 Pro / 15 Pro Max
Compatible when the exact iPhone is unlocked and exposes an EID. US iPhone 15 models are eSIM-only; Canadian models commonly support eSIM alongside a physical SIM. You need your QR code (emailed after purchase) and an internet connection to scan it.

Settings > Cellular > Add eSIM > Use QR Code

Scan the QR code
Open the Camera app and point it at your eSIM QR code. When 'Cellular Plan Available' appears, tap it. Or go to Settings → Cellular → Add Cellular Plan and scan the code.

Add and label
Tap 'Add Cellular Plan'. If asked, give it a name like 'Europe' or 'Travel Data'. Confirm to install.

Activate abroad
The eSIM profile is installed. Follow the specific plan terms for when validity or service begins; when ready to use it, go to Settings → Cellular → select your travel plan → turn on 'Turn On This Line' or set it for Cellular Data.
Check compatibility first
Confirm the phone is unlocked and has an EID in Settings > General > About. US-sold iPhone 15 models are eSIM-only; that is compatible with a Voyaio travel eSIM, but you should keep your Canadian line details available for account access.
Carrier and region: US iPhone 15 models do not have a physical SIM tray. A carrier-locked phone cannot use Voyaio, and a regional firmware variation can change available options; verify the exact model before buying.
Before you fly
Install over Wi-Fi before the flight, name the plan after your destination, and do not delete it after installation—you may need it again during the trip.
Install vs. activate: Install over Wi-Fi before the flight. Whether validity or service begins at installation or later depends on the specific plan; leave the travel line off until arrival only if that matches the plan terms.
Device details cross-check: Apple: unlock and eSIM checks. Regional model and carrier support can still differ.
Home line and dual SIM
Use Voyaio as the Cellular Data line while keeping your Canadian eSIM available for verification texts. Turn off Allow Cellular Data Switching so the iPhone cannot silently use the Canadian line for data. Keeping the Canadian line enabled can still incur your carrier's roaming or usage charges, especially for calls and SMS; check your carrier's terms before travel.
When you arrive
Set the Voyaio line as Cellular Data when you arrive. Keep Allow Cellular Data Switching off unless you deliberately want the phone to fall back to your Canadian line.
Tip
iPhone 15 (US) uses eSIM only – no physical SIM slot. Your Canadian plan and travel eSIM both use eSIM.

There is no Add eSIM option
Check for an EID under Settings > General > About, update iOS, and confirm Carrier Lock says No SIM restrictions. If any check fails, do not assume the device is compatible.
Data switches back to the Canadian line
Set Voyaio as Cellular Data and turn off Allow Cellular Data Switching; also disable data roaming on the Canadian line.
If the phone shows no service, confirm the travel plan is enabled, mobile data is assigned to that line, and data roaming is enabled for the travel eSIM when the provider requires it. Then toggle airplane mode or restart the phone.
