What is an eSIM
An eSIM is a digital SIM built into your phone. Instead of a physical card, you download a data plan and activate it when you need it. No store visit, no swapping SIMs.

How it differs
A physical SIM is a removable card. An eSIM is a secure profile built into the phone that can be downloaded from a carrier or travel provider. With a travel eSIM, you can add a second data plan without removing your home SIM or visiting a shop after you land.
After purchase
Activation
Installation happens in settings. After purchase, Voyaio sends a QR code to your email so you can install the profile, then follow the selected plan’s activation terms.
How it works

- Buy a plan
Choose your destination and data amount. Pay in your selected currency. We send a QR code to your email.
- Scan and install
Open your phone camera or settings, scan the QR code, and follow the prompts. It takes a few minutes.
- Activate abroad
Follow the selected plan’s activation terms, then choose the travel line for data when you are ready. Service depends on the plan, device, location and local network.
Dual-SIM
Keep two lines, use one for data
On a compatible unlocked dual-SIM phone, keep the home line for calls, SMS and 2FA, use Voyaio for data, and turn off home-line data roaming. The home carrier may still charge for roaming calls or SMS.
Home line
Keep this available for incoming calls, SMS, and verification texts. Turn data roaming off on this line so your home carrier does not bill travel data.
Travel eSIM
Set the Voyaio line as the data line when you are ready. It is data-only and does not automatically include a new phone number or voice service.

Before you buy
Is my phone compatible?
eSIM support is device-specific. Typical starting points are iPhone XS and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, and recent Samsung Galaxy flagships. The phone still needs to support eSIM and be network unlocked. Compatibility is not guaranteed for every phone released after a given year.

- Phone support: Look for an EID or an Add eSIM option in your settings.
- Network unlock: A carrier-locked phone may not accept a travel eSIM.
- Coverage: Choose a country plan for a single destination or a regional plan for a multi-country itinerary, then read the included country list.
- Data amount: use the data calculator if you are unsure how much data maps, social media, and streaming will use.
